Juventus 1-1 Roma: 1-0 win in Rome
Posted On July 25, 2021
The Rossoneri got their first win of the season and a draw away to Lazio on Tuesday night.
Mario Balotelli put Roma ahead with an exquisite strike before the break after just six minutes and Simone Inzaghi sealed victory with a penalty.
Roma coach Massimiliano Allegri has had a mixed start to the season.
The former AC Milan boss lost his job on Sunday when his team lost 2-1 to Napoli.
His side have won only once in the opening three weeks.
They went into Tuesday’s match with five points from three games.
Roma are also unbeaten in the league, but are currently eight points adrift of fourth-placed Lazio.
Ancelotti has only one win in the last 10 games at Lazio and has been criticised by many fans for not doing enough to improve his side.
“The most important thing is the performance.
There are many problems in the team, which are not easy to overcome,” Allegri told a press conference.
“The important thing now is that we are in the right shape and the right rhythm.”
Rome are in a difficult position at the top of Serie A. They are four points clear at the summit and are three points behind fourth-place Milan.
They have a game in hand over the Giallorossi but will be without striker Federico Bernardeschi.
Allegri’s men had only conceded two goals in the first six games of the campaign before the Rossonerio’s 3-0 loss to Laziale in the Coppa Italia final on March 10.
Lazio have only won once in their last five matches.
